i found this great (but a little boring) defense video. i am a goalie so i know a little about the defense. they must be big, scary and loud. loudness is a key part in defense. the girls need to know exactly who they have or else an open girl will get the ball and shoot. when your team plays woman to woman and even zone defense, they should not be past the 12 meter line (unless your coach tell you otherwise) so that when a girl comes in, they are ready and can double team her better. an exception to this is if your team is losing. when this happens you need to put pressure on the ball. if the girl panics, she is more likely to make a really bad pass and then your team can pick it up and go for the goal. if a girl comes inside of the 8 meter arc, you need to be stuck on her goal side and ready to intercept the ball if needed. if, by chance, the girl catches the ball, you need to be right in front of her(but not in shooting space) and call for help so that the team mates nearest to you can come and help double or triple team her. oh that's another thing, call for help if you need it! don't be headstrong like a lot of girls (including myself) are.

rules, rules and more rules...
As a lot of you know, there have been multiple changes and additions to the US Lacrosse rule book. for women in youth teams and in high school, most of the changes have to do with misconduct.the team coach will be personally responsible for the behavior of the parents of their girls on the sidelines. they will be given a card and it will go against the team. also any player that recieves 2 yellow cards will have to sit out for the teams next game and anyone who recieves a red card will sit out for the teams next 2 games. if a team receives a 3rd yellow card, then the team will play a woman down for the rest of the game and every time a girl gets a yellow card after will have to sit out, making the team lose an additional player. here is a link for the official rule changes and at the bottom of the page, there is a link for more of the official game rule changes.

for men in high school, the meaning of an illegal body check has changed. now men cannot initiate contact to an opponent's head or a check that follows through to the head. also one player cannot check another's head with his own head. also, any player who shows symptoms of a concussion will be immediately removed from the game and will not return until cleared by a professional. The center of the field must have a solid or a shadow-bordered line at least 1/4 inches wide. more rule changes are on the official NFHS web site below.

New Stuff!
lacrosse comes out with better gear for men and women every year. this post i am going to focus on the ever popular Warrior and STX.
MEN
The new Warrior gear is beastly and include Warrior Buzzkill Goalie gloves, Warrior Lockdown Goalie gloves, Mac Daddy 3 gloves, Limited Edition RICH PEOPLES Mac Daddy 3 gloves, and Warrior Wrath gloves and more. Warrior also has some new goalie and field pads such the Warrior Buzzkill Goalie leg pads, Warrior Lockdown goalie chest pad, the Warrior Lockdown goalie guard(which is more flexible than the chest pad), and some Warrior MPG 10 arm guards and pads.
WOMEN
The new women's sticks are just as awesome as last years. STX has come out with a head called the CRUX and it has 10 degree technology and low sidewalls for optimal ball handling and control. STX has also come out with a new composite shaft called the Ripple and it also has 10 degree technology. it has an octagon/wave shape and a 1" diameter. another shaft that STX has come out with is the Rumble. It is a 1" composite shaft with a soft finish for increased grip, and has an octagon/wave shape. The new STX 4 Sight Fit goggles are a different sight to me. they have a silicone base and a flexible nose bridge. they have oval titanium wires within the sight line for better visibility.
When i figure out how to put pictures, I will. :/

Lacrosse History
The game of lacrosse was first discovered when the Europeans came over to the Americas, when they discovered the natives playing with a ball and sticks with a pouch. The biggest rule was that you could not touch the ball with your hands. the only things that missionaries and explorers like Jonathan Carver would record about the game was the team size duration of the game and the equipment used.
Here's a video that i found that's a little comical and lacrosse filled but still a little informational. hope you like it! Oh and if you have any questions, please ask and i will try to answer them.
